A Cantarinha de Pinela
A Cantarinha de Pinela is a book of affections, memories and traditions from Trás-os-Montes, concentrated in the village of Pinela.
A privilege to draw this moment of sharing between grandmother and granddaughter and a personal trip to my roots in Trás-os-Montes. We are part of the history of places, their people and their relationships. Like Cantarinha de Pinela, this book is much more than an object, it is stories, affections and traditions.
In order to draw, I chose the materials that helped me to transmit in image everything I felt when reading Alex's text: The mark of time in people and places using graphite pencil, in a gray equal to that of the solid and lasting stone and that of the coal that was once a tree and turns to ashes returns to the earth and is fertilizer for a new life. the land we tread and the path we choose, symbolized in the color of the coffee with which I painted Pinela's cantarinhas. And of course, the love with which everything is built is placed with red pencil on the roofs that shelter, on the door that opens, on the cheeks that give and receive, in the kitchen bowls that take our gaze to a small cantarinha on the top of the cabinet.

A Cantarinha de Pinela é um livro de afetos, memórias e tradições transmontanas, concentrada na aldeia de Pinela.
Um privilégio desenhar este momento de partilha entre avó e neta e uma viagem pessoal às minhas raízes transmontanas. Fazemos parte da história dos lugares, das suas pessoas e das suas relações. Tal como a Cantarinha de Pinela, este livro é muito mais do que um objeto, são histórias, afetos e tradições.
Para desenhar, escolhi os materiais que me ajudaram a transmitir em imagem tudo o que senti ao ler o texto do Alex: A marca do tempo nas pessoas e lugares usando o lápis de grafite, num cinzento igual ao da pedra sólida e duradora e ao do carvão que já foi árvore e ao transformar-se em cinzas volta à terra e é adubo para uma nova vida. a terra que pisamos e o caminho que escolhemos simbolizados na cor do café com que pintei as cantarinhas de Pinela. E claro, o amor com que tudo se constrói é colocado com lápis vermelho nos telhados que abrigam, na porta que se abre, nas bochechas coradas que dão e recebem, nas taças da cozinha que levam o nosso olhar a uma pequena cantarinha no cimo do armário.
